Students who intend to study Japanese beyond Year 9 are strongly encouraged to select Year 9 ELECTIVE Italian as an elective subject (to take place during semester 2), in addition to selecting YEAR 9 CORE ITALIAN as their year 9 compulsory LOTE subject.  These should be placed in their first three choices on the subject selection form. 

This unit will extend students’ knowledge of vocabulary and grammar from Year 9 CORE Italian, with a focus on constructing higher level paragraphs using new tenses and grammatical structures.

There will be a variety of tasks undertaken from the following Assessment Tasks and Topic Tests:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening and Speaking

Contributions to class discussions and completion of class work will also be considered.
