Students who intend to study Italian beyond Year 9 are strongly encouraged to also select Year 9 ELECTIVE Italian as an elective subject (to take place during semester 2), in addition to selecting YEAR 9 CORE ITALIAN as their Year 9 compulsory LOTE subject. These should be placed in their first three choices on the subject selection form.
This unit will extend students’ knowledge of vocabulary and grammar from Year 9 CORE Italian, with a focus on comprehension and composition of higher level paragraphs using new tenses and grammatical structures. This subject is also highly recommended for those students wanting to attend the Italian Study Tour in future due to the practical uses of the content learnt.
