Camera technician, film and TV camera operator, photographer, advertising designer, multimedia developer, museum tour guide, AV technician, AV retailer, journalist, film and TV editor, lighting director, graphic designer

 

Students use film cameras and work in the darkroom to produce a folio of black and white photographic prints. They explore the creative possibilities of an SLR Film camera and work creatively in with light to develop and enlarge their own photographs using the traditional chemical process under red safe lights. They conduct photo-shoots where they learn to control and design lighting to maximise the creative impact of the photographic image. Students also research the life of photographic artists and learn how to analyse their photographs.

  • Analyse, interpret and evaluate a range of visual artworks from different cultures, historical and contemporary contexts, including artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to explore differing viewpoints 

 Assessment:

There will be a variety of tasks undertaken from the following: 

  • Folio of Photographic Artworks
  • An Artist’s life and work
  • Analysis of Photographs

Contributions to class discussions and completion of class work will also be considered.
