Students who completed Japanese in Year 8 must select Year 9 CORE Japanese as their Languages subject. In this unit, students will be required to build on the vocabulary and grammar covered in Year 8 and aim to begin to formulate paragraphs using new grammar and vocabulary.

Students who intend to study Japanese beyond Year 9 are strongly encouraged to also select Year 9 ELECTIVE Japanese as an elective subject (to take place during Semester 2). This is in addition to Year 9 CORE Japanese.

Assessment:

There will be a variety of tasks undertaken from the following Assessment Tasks and Topic Tests:

  • Language Skills
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening and Speaking

Contributions to class discussions and completion of class work will also be considered.
