Year 10 Fashion For Me

Are you curious as to what colours, fabrics and styles suit you? Join us as we explore the wonderful array of fabrics available and discover your personal clothing style and colours. You will design and create garments using both recycled and emerging fabrics. You will explore the history of fashion and how it impacts our clothing choices today. You will design and create garments to suit your personal style.

 

Learning Activities

Students undertake design work including research, written design briefs and the drawing and production of a folio. They apply their knowledge, skills, techniques and processes and risk management, to make their product.

 

Key Skills

  • investigate practices of designers that address sustainability issues
  • develop a design brief
  • develop evaluation criteria for the finished product
  • develop and apply drawing skills for a range of purposes
  • develop a scheduled production plan.
  • apply design, use materials, tools, equipment, machines and production processes to safely and accurately make a product
  • use marking out, cutting, shaping, joining, assembling, decorating and/or finishing processes to make a  product
  • record progress and adjustments to the scheduled production plan
  • respond to evaluation criteria
  • evaluate the redeveloped product and suggest improvements.

 

Assessment:

Assessment across the year will include a range of tasks such as:

  • Design Folio
  • Production Work
  • Semester Examination
